The meeting was called to order by Carl Webb, president, 6:00 p.m.

Directors present: Marilyne Dias, Anthony Dos Santos, Natalie Kent, Eb Lemcke, Carl Webb, Karen Webb, Dorothy Yanagi

Minutes: (Yanagi): Motion to approve (Dias/Emcke), unanimous.

Treasurer's report: (K. Webb): Checking account balance is $13,543.51 with the expectation that the SLz Friends will purchase another CD for $5000. Motion to approve (Kent/Dias), unanimous.

Library (Dos Santos): Conclusion of Summer Games; good participation with approximately 600 kids. The library will probably close after January 2010. Four months is projected for renovation. A professional company will move and store the books. The 100th year observance of the San Lorenzo Library coincides with the Alameda County Library and will tie in with a statewide celebration. Forty-five volunteers of "Kid Power" came to help with the Summer Games program; a pizza party was held and San Lorenzo Friends reimbursed $75.

Book sale: (Kent): Set-up for next book sale is on Oct. 1. Sale is Oct. 3 through 7. Fliers will distributed at the SLz Homes Assn and, if allowed, at the U.S. Post Office. Treats will again be provided for volunteers. Another book sale will be held starting Jan. 14, 2010.

Membership: C. Webb emphasized need to build a strong e-mail network.

Newsletter: (Dias): Next newsletter will be two pages, front and back. The cost of copying this issue will be $350.
