Regular Meeting of the Board
February 22, 2010
DRAFT Minutes
Board members present: M. Dias, N. Kent, E. Lemcke, C. Webb, D. Yanagi.
Meeting commenced at 6:10 p.m. presided by C. Webb.
Notice of Upcoming Meeting (E. Lemcke): Mr. Bohannon will speak to the Land Grant Development Agency on March 3, 2010. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.; Supervisor Alice LaiBitker asks Friends to attend.
Librarian's Report (A. Dos Santos): Asked for possible ways to reach out to the public by 1) having some programs at the SLzVH Assn. Hall; 2) have a presence at the San Lorenzo Farmers' Market i.e. book sales to serve as a library annex. Possible date of library renovation is April 19 to end of June, but this is still tentative. Taxes are being done at Marina Center.
Book Sale (N. Kent): Some of the books may be on carts in the event the courtyard space is not usable due to rain. Kent said that our book sale was annnounced on-line and suggested that we keep informed of other library book sales as well.
By-Laws (E. Lemcke): Announced that he is trying to clarify, not change, the by-laws.
Treasurer's Report (K. Webb presented by C. Webb): Checking account has $15,047.83, CDs have $1,123.58. C. Webb reports that the bank mail which had been sent to a former board member is now being delivered to the Friends P. O. box. N. Kent made a motion to accept the report and was seconded by M. Dias; passed.
Community Ourtreach (N. Kent): Suggest that we sponsor a girls' softball team at the cost of $300. for the year. A motion was made by Kent to do so, seconded by Dias. Passed.
Centennial Celebration (M. Dias): Announced that we can get awnings from the Sheriff's Office and then we can rent them out as requested.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
